Jokerfish Audition Information
Before you get on stage
|
Once you're on stage
- Yes, and...
- The Golden Rule
- Remember that the auditioners want you to succeed. They're looking for talent. Believe me, they're pulling for you. They'd much rather cut good people, than cast mediocre.
- Make others look good, support, give and take
- Take a deep breath
- Have Fun
- Be confident. Failing that - perform confidence.
- Save the comedy for the scenes - if you're asked to say your name, just say it, be a person first, and then a performer. If you're asked to be real, please be real.
- Make an impression. Do what you do best
- Stagehogs and doormats are both gonna get left behind.
- Be bold. (That doesn't mean loud, angry or offensive)
- Give it everything you've got and when it's over leave it all behind.
- Remember that the auditioners want you to succeed. They're looking for talent. Believe me, they're pulling for you. They'd much rather cut good people, than cast mediocre.
Afterwards
- Be polite. (Seriously)
- Remember to breathe.
- If you don't make it, it's OK. There's always next time. Some of the best improvisers I've ever known, got shut out the first few times.
